Our Story
Thirteen wonderful years and five amazing kids ago, I was a young bride standing at the back of the aisle in an old greenhouse that wasn't so green, in a dress that looked nothing like what I'd dreamed of, sunburned and exhausted. 6 months of full-time jobs, wedding planning, and failed attempts to make an old greenhouse green again. I had my soon-to-be-husband and I burned out in more ways than one. Our amazing friends and loved ones stood smiling under sweaty brows, our closest family (especially moms) exhausted from their own heartfelt efforts to help. The love of my life stood at the other end by the wedding arch, waiting for me to swallow hard, to set aside everything that had gone wrong, (and it got worse) and take the first step to the rest of our lives together. It really ended up being a beautiful ceremony and reception. However, looking back over time, I could see almost only regrets. With my wonderful husband, and the amazing 120 people we got to celebrate with being the only things that didn't go wrong, I did come around to seeing and remembering all of the beautiful and amazing memories of the day. But to put it simply, it did not go as planned.
I, like most brides, hadn't planned a wedding before. And we certainly didn't have anyone besides our amazing and tolerant family and friends to help run the day. We had wonderful and overworked people to make our wedding happen. And still, so much went wrong. From that day on, (after I'd nursed my own wounds) I decided I would help anyone I could with their wedding day. So I did. Since then, our first born daughter, Kaitlyn Grace has joined me, and it's been our honor and privilege to help amazing couples take the first steps of their new lives together.
